Aruba hosted the first edition of Aruba Activo 2026 two weeks ago, bringing together the community, sports federations, clubs, and organizations for a day dedicated to sports and physical activity. The festival created an atmosphere of energy and unity while encouraging people of all ages to embrace a more active lifestyle.
From early morning until evening, Bushiri Beach served as a hub for sports and physical activity, with a varied program catering to different ages and fitness levels. The event aimed to inspire people to move more, discover new sports, and make physical activity a regular part of their daily lives.
Minister of Sports Gerlien Croes expressed her satisfaction with the first edition, highlighting the enthusiasm and participation shown by the community.
“Aruba Activo showed us what is possible when sports bring a country together. We saw children, young people, adults, and entire families being active, participating, and enjoying themselves together. This is more than just an event. We want to create a movement that inspires Aruba to stay active throughout the year,” Croes said.
The festival also gave sports federations, clubs, gyms, and other organizations an opportunity to showcase their activities, connect with the public, and encourage more people to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines. It also highlighted the talent, knowledge, and dedication within Aruba’s sports community.

Croes extended her gratitude to IBiSA, the organizers, sports federations, clubs and organizations, the Believe In Yourself volunteer group, partners, stakeholders, and everyone who contributed to making the event possible. She also thanked the participants and families whose involvement helped create the positive atmosphere throughout the day.
The success of the inaugural edition demonstrates the potential for Aruba Activo to grow into a national platform for promoting sports, physical activity, well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
“Aruba Activo is not just an event; it is a movement. A movement toward a more active, healthier, and more united Aruba,” Croes said.
The Ministry of Sports looks back on Aruba Activo 2026 with satisfaction and thanks the entire community for helping make the first edition an unforgettable experience.
