Property owner accuses tenants of damaging her property

by Nicole

Homeowner Nemesis Quant has publicly accused a group of tenants of causing damage to her property during a rental agreement that ran from January through December 2026. According to Quant, what began as a rental arrangement ended with disturbances, damage to household equipment, and questions about who will cover the repair costs.

Quant said four Ecuadorian nationals initially visited the property, reviewed the rental price, and agreed to the contract. After they moved in, however, she discovered that ten people were living in the house. After discussing the situation with her partner, she decided to give them a chance.

According to Quant, the tenants initially paid their rent on time, on the third day of each month as stipulated in the contract. She said the problems began when concerns arose about their behavior.

The first major incident reportedly occurred during a gathering at the house. Quant said the gathering had quieted down by 10:00 p.m., but at around 3:00 a.m., she heard shouting, profanity, and the sound of beer bottles falling.

She called her partner and stayed on the phone with him while she went to check what was happening. Quant said the tenants initially refused to open the door. When they eventually did, she found broken bottles, spilled beer, and a mess throughout the house. She also reported that some people were walking around nearly naked and that children were present. One man was allegedly so intoxicated that he could barely stand.

When Quant confronted the tenants, she said they argued that paying rent gave them the right to do what they wanted. She disagreed and told the visitors to leave the property.

Another concern involved drinking outside the house. Quant alleged that the tenants threw beer bottles onto the public road, creating a potential hazard for motorists and neighbors. She also reported finding bottles discarded in the surrounding vegetation.

Quant described a separate incident in which a drinking session allegedly began around 7:00 p.m. on a Friday and continued until 10:00 a.m. the following morning. She said the incident involved broken bottles, disorder, and fighting, prompting her to call the police.

According to Quant, only four of the ten residents presented identification documents, while the other six remained inside the property. She said she had previously requested employment letters to complete her records but had not received them. Her concerns regarding the tenants’ immigration documentation have not been officially confirmed.

Quant also reported damage to the air-conditioning units, which she said had been made to run continuously to cool the entire house. When she raised the issue, the tenants allegedly questioned why they should pay for repairs if the units were still functioning.

She explained that the property has modern features, including fingerprint access and controls operated through a phone. Quant said she had purchased various accessories through eBay using her own money. She also described a disagreement involving the bathroom sink.

Quant further referred to comments on Facebook about rental prices, although she did not provide evidence that the property had been sublet.

After nearly a year, the tenants moved out, allegedly leaving damage behind. Quant is now seeking accountability for the repair costs, stating that she personally invested in the house and its equipment.

Through her public complaint, Quant hopes to alert other property owners to the importance of carefully screening prospective tenants and establishing clear rental agreements. She stressed that paying rent does not give tenants the right to damage a property.
