The Noord Community Center (Centro di Bario Noord) held its two-day Halloween fair, which marked its fifth anniversary this year. The event featured a haunted house and attracted visitors, while also bringing the community together ahead of the upcoming Carnival season.
Nelaine Giel, a member of Centro di Bario Noord’s Carnival committee, thanked the people of Noord and everyone who helped make the fair a success.
During the evening’s activities, the organization also introduced and crowned its queens for the 2027 Carnival season.
The newly crowned queens are Claire Maduro, Noord Children’s Queen; Ryziliane Richardson, Noord Youth Queen 2027; Jehdeiah Flanegin, Noord Grand Queen 2027; and Farignalda “Fari” Felicia, Noord Carnival Lady 2027.

Giel also announced that Noord is also preparing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its Children’s Parade. The milestone makes the upcoming Carnival season especially significant for the community, which is preparing to deliver a memorable presentation.
Centro di Bario Noord has chosen ‘Enchanted Garden’ as its overall Carnival theme. Each group will represent a fantasy element connected to the theme. Noord will participate as butterflies, while the other groups are also preparing their presentations around the concept.
According to Giel, the groups will take part in the parades in Noord, Paradera, and Oranjestad. Anyone interested in joining the parade can contact Centro di Bario Noord to participate either with a road piece or as part of a smaller group.

Details about costumes, prices, and other participation arrangements will be announced on November 11th.
Giel once again thanked the Noord community and everyone who contributed to organizing the fair.
